Technology Details
Human hepatic lipase cell line – Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells have been stably transfected with a human hepatic lipase cDNA to overexpress this enzyme in cell culture.
- CHO-HL-Lec1 – This cell line secretes human hepatic lipase in a form with uniform glycosylation to facilitate downstream crystallography studies and structural analysis of human hepatic lipase. This is achieved by using a mutant strain of Chinese hamster ovary cells which is associated with a mutation in carbohydrate processing.
- 293-EL – This cell line stably expresses human endothelial lipase. Like hepatic lipase, endothelial lipase is known to influence HDL cholesterol levels and is such has emerged as a target to potentially raise HDL-cholesterol levels.
- 293-Lp-PLA2 – This cell line stably expresses human lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in a tagged form to facilitate purification. Many studies have identified Lp-PLA2 as a risk biomarker for cardiovascular disease.
