Student Educational Projects

UBC provides opportunities for industry to engage with undergraduate and graduate students in educational projects.

Generally, projects are developed in partnership with course providers, but the UILO can assist in providing guidelines relating to how outputs of projects may be handled.

Undergraduate Student Engineering Projects

The undergraduate student engineering projects provide practical learning experiences for students while at the same time may investigate the feasibility of a technology or product identified by a company, or demonstrate the utility of specific UBC IP which may be of interest to a company. Typically, the Company identifies problems or projects which may allow Students to gain such practical and hand-on experience while fulfilling their UBC course requirements.

Accelerate Program
Administered by MITACS Inc, the Accelerate Program connects BC businesses with university researchers in all disciplines who have advanced levels of expertise in areas that address vital research opportunities. It partners graduate student and postdoctoral fellow interns and their supervising professors with BC companies, hospitals, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations. These connections help partners utilize new tools, technologies and methodologies to address issues that are vital to an organization's success.
